Dual representations of cardinal preferences when outcomes are vectors
نویسنده
چکیده
Given a set of vector outcomes and the set of lotteries over it, we define sets of (a) von Neumann-Morgenstern representations of cardinal preferences over the lotteries, (b) mappings that yield the certainty equivalent outcomes corresponding to a lottery, (c) mappings that yield the risk premia corresponding to a lottery, (d) mappings that yield the acceptance set of lotteries corresponding to an outcome, and (e) vector-valued functions that yield generalized Arrow-Pratt coefficients corresponding to an outcome. Our main results establish bijections between these sets of mappings for very general specifications of outcome spaces, lotteries and preferences. As corollaries of these results, we derive analogous dual representations of risk averse preferences. Some applications to financial theory illustrate the potential uses of our results. Finally, we provide criteria for comparing the risk aversion of preferences in terms of the dual representations. JEL classification: C02, D01, D81, G12

متن کاملTopographies of Hate: Islamophobia in Cyberia
Islamophobia’s occurrence in any particular country has little do with the presence of Muslim; it is possible to be Islamophobic when there are virtually no Muslim around. This because the lack of Muslims is filled by the surplus of Islamophobic representations. This surplus of representations is now increasingly reliant on the internet. There are many studies reporting on Islamophobia on the i...
متن کاملOn Mechanisms Eliciting Ordinal Preferences
When is a mechanism designer justified in only asking for ordinal information about preferences? Simple examples show that, even if the planner’s goal (expressed by a social choice correspondence, or SCC) depends only on ordinal information, eliciting cardinal information may help with incentives. However, if agents may be uncertain about their own cardinal preferences, then a strong robustness...

Consider the semidirect product group H ×? K, where H and K are two arbitrary locally compact groups and K is also abelian. We introduce the continuous wavelet transform associated to some square integrable representations H ×? K. Moreover, we try to obtain a concrete form for admissible vectors of these integrable representations.
متن کاملThe study of relation between existence of admissible vectors and amenability and compactness of a locally compact group
The existence of admissible vectors for a locally compact group is closely related to the group's profile. In the compact groups, according to Peter-weyl theorem, every irreducible representation has admissible vector. In this paper, the conditions under which the inverse of this case is being investigated has been investigated. Conditions such as views that are admissible and stable will get c...
